The anti-vaccination movement is largely to blame for the continuing measles outbreak and the fact that the U.S. is going to lose our measles elimination status.

Until RFK Jr. is removed from office, things are only going to get worse.

@jimalwine.bsky.social and I wrote about here:
The US is on track to lose its measles elimination status in months. RFK needs to go.
Canada has lost its measles elimination status and the U.S. is likely to be next. These failures are the result of the anti-vaccination movement, bolstered by the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ...

Unsurprisingly, it’s women dominated professions being targeted.

It’s also a disability rights issue as they’re targeting paramedical programs. NPs, PTs, SLPs & social work

This is exactly why the Supreme Court’s “Purcell principle” case law is so pernicious: It creates unprecedented incentives on the part of lower-court judges either to hustle out rulings that alter voting-related rules or to slow them down—and *everyone* assumes the other side’s motives are impure.

I dunno, man, if I began an opinion with a 3+ page "Preliminary Statement" complaining about disrespectful conduct by the other two judges on the panel, I would not immediately follow it up with this:

All the VSPs decided that we can't talk about climate any more, and the entire climate establishment pathetically acceded, nonetheless: climate change is still very real! And Trump is going to rack up Holocaust-style numbers with his anti-climate policies.
Trump’s Anti-Green Agenda Could Lead to 1.3 Million More Climate Deaths. The Poorest Countries Will Be Impacted Most.
Most of the people expected to suffer these temperature-related deaths live in poor countries in Africa and South Asia that are least prepared to cope with the increasing heat from climate change.

the actual reason for this is so that robots can be easily plugged into human roles. the more human-like a robot is, the more readily it can replace a human.
one of the things I really do not understand is why so much of the development of robots seems to be focused on making them bipedal like humans. Why? It's an insane allocation of resources when it would be much easier to give them three or four "legs" or come up with some new system

Incredible—according to @talkingpointsmemo.com, Judge Nachmanoff in the Comey case found a DC Circuit opinion almost directly on point that seems to prohibit what Halligan did with the indictment all the way back in 1969!

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

Crim folks please weigh in, but I think if the unpresented presentment is a nullity, no jeopardy, but also nothing to relate back to, which means they have a huge statute of limitations problem.
Jeopardy does not attach regardless, right? So the criminal docket gets terminated, and Halligan gets to screw this up all over again.
