Just home from a mammoth Edinburgh trip signing copies of #TheRestIsDeath and anything else I can get my hands on. All the Waterstones branches have signed copies now, as does Blackwells on South Bridge.

Who's headed to gwylcrimecymrufestival.co.uk in April? I'll be joining Graham Miller, @jamesoswald.scot & @davidpennywriting.bsky.social for a panel on creating authentic detectives that would actually pass police training. Trust me, real policing is dramatic enough without breaking all the rules 😅

I have read this book, and it is really as good as it looks!
I think we’ve set the bar pretty high at Raven Books over the years for gorgeous special editions and this one for Richard Strachan’s The Unrecovered is *such* an excellent addition to the list. The cherry on the top of what is truly an excellent cake of writing.
The gorgeous independent bookshop edition of #TheUnrecovered by Richard Strachan arrived today - and it is a thing of beauty! 😍

Available to pre-order from your local independent bookshop, or via these links: m.cmpgn.page/WcZzDj

I should probably have included a link for more details, but I had to remember how to update the website first. Here you go - it's out on March 27th. jamesoswald.co.uk?page_id=1542

One of my favourite books this year.
Next up: Song of the Huntress!

If making a person into a bone harp wasn't dark enough, how about a woman who rides as death incarnate?

You can pick up the gorgeous Goldsboro edition of my Wild Hunt book over on their website ❤️ goldsborobooks.com/products/son...

I've been very slow with my reading this year. Gradually getting my mojo back. Enjoyed these two books. A slice of twisty Nordic noir by Johanna Gustafson and Thomas Enger (our Mar 25), and a haunting mystery by @jamesoswald.scot (out now). Both highly recommended!

“Women back in the day used to be able to take a joke” always makes me think of my mum’s cousin the 70s - She was carrying a tray of hot tea and some old git went, “What would you do if I just grabbed your tits right now?” She replied, “This.” and tipped the tray onto his lap.

Trying to remember to post here occasionally! I'm more often found @sirbenfro.bsky.social. Hi everyone, I'm James Oswald, author of too many books to mention individually. The most recent is Broken Ghosts, and I'm very proud of it. jamesoswald.co.uk?page_id=1457

Not sure about love, but I can usually tell within a paragraph or two whether we're going to get along.
Good morning. We are open.

Quick reminder that I don't really use this account. If you're looking for hairy coo action and the occasional frivolous take on serious subjects, try @sirbenfro.bsky.social

If you've come here looking for coos, that's @sirbenfro.bsky.social. At least, mostly.

Used one of my own invitation codes to make myself a second account. Mostly to stop any other James Oswalds getting there before me like the guy on the other place. Still smarts that he nabbed the name just weeks before I did, and then never posted anything.
