The Government should make building hundreds of thousands of council homes its defining purpose.

No other policy, achievable within a Parliament, would bring greater social and economic benefits.

Palliative Care

As the #assisteddieing bill goes through the committee stage, parliamentarians should scrutinise palliative care. At the moment, it's a bit of a post code lottery. The hospice sector are sadly financially dependent on charitable donations.

A record-breaking 159,000 children will spend this Christmas homeless in temporary accommodation - like Liam who wrote this letter. If you can, consider supporting Shelter: england.shelter.org.uk/donate

Horrific numbers and on the same day it’s announced we had over a million net migration. I’m really liberal but find it hard to not see some connection. We have to build a lot more homes to house our growing population
NEW: The number of homeless children living in temporary accommodation in England has risen AGAIN to 159,380 - up 15% in a year.

Transient lives in temporary homes, defined by uncertainly, doing untold damage.

It is a scandal. But it’s not new. And it’s not going away.

Starmer and govt comms missing a trick by not posting on here right now imo. US election showed importance of message maximisation on what are essentially your own side’s info networks. This shouldn’t become an echo chamber but unarguable this site right now is better orientated for them than X.

To be fair the disability hatemongers of the Daily Heil would print headlines like that if the Baby Jesus was PM.

That said, it is bleak. Labour have a landslide, if they don't start acting like it, a FarRight coalition of BadEnoch's Con artists and Farage's FascistPlc will win the next election.

Personally I only block (on any site) for three reasons.
1) someone is posting something that is abusive
2) I don’t want them to see my posts for some reason
3) they are posting things I definitely don’t want to see but they keep appearing in my feed.

So far I’ve not blocked anyone on here.
