To be fair the disability hatemongers of the Daily Heil would print headlines like that if the Baby Jesus was PM.
That said, it is bleak. Labour have a landslide, if they don't start acting like it, a FarRight coalition of BadEnoch's Con artists and Farage's FascistPlc will win the next election.

The government has already announced plans for a new 5yr rent settlement in social housing, CPI + 1%. RSP can at least do some financial planning. The private rental sector is a "shark tank" fueled by the lack of affordable housing. LHA and benefits are an easy target. Agree fully with you.

Shared Ownership 17,300.
Housing Associations provided 5,200 social rent homes, off set by Council Right to Buy sales at 4,500 a net gain of 700.
If any progress is to be made, major changes are required in the building/provision of social rent homes.
