🚨NEW: Justice Anthony Kennedy authored the Citizens United decision & today released a memoir defending his ruling letting oligarchs buy elections - yet he says he worries democracy may not survive.

None of the media Kennedy is granting interviews has even asked him about Citizens United.

I know it’s cumbersome but I’d rather the moniker No Dictators prevail because hearing the expression no kings just seems childish.
It's the classic authoritarian playbook: smear your opponents with baseless lies so that you can try to shut down peaceful, organized dissent.

We won't be intimidated. We won't be cowed. We won't bow down.

No Kings.

Wondering where all the “become ungovernable” people have gone in response to Don’s second deployment of military resources on US soil. Have they all bent to be openly the “just obey the law and don’t be a minority” they always were. Damn, closet cases!

Do you notice how the only policies depicted as "realistic" or "acceptable" by media, politicians, and think tankers are the policies that don't inconvenience the owners of/donors to media, politicians and think tankers?

Yeah, that's not a bug. That's a feature.

This isn’t the charitable act it sounds like. It’s a symptom of individuals in command of too much money.
Oprah Winfrey opened a private road on a property she owns in Maui to help residents evacuate after a tsunami warning, according to the authorities on the Hawaiian island.

The House quietly passed a bill that caters to the interests of billionaire hedge fund and VC investors who fund congressional super PACs. The measure was introduced by Rep. Mike Flood (R-Neb.) and co-sponsored by Rep. Sarah McBride (D-Del.) and others.
Private Equity Quietly Scores a Bipartisan Win in Congress
With backing from Wall Street trade group SIFMA, the House unanimously passed a bill to expand access to hedge funds, private equity, and other risky investment offerings.

Lee Zeldin: "They say that climate change endangers public health. You have many on the left who will say carbon dioxide is a pollutant, and they won't talk about the all of the many reasons why carbon dioxide is actually quite essential for life here on our planet."

You just saw a food processing plant open that had folks who were arrested & sent away then you had American workers actually sign up. It's actually amazing how overtly Maoist the Republican Party is right now. Both Maoism and MAGA hate cities for their own reasons, so they want to depopulate the cities to make people go work in food production.

Really important thread
The Republic that is collapsing now is the Second Republic. The First Republic collapsed in the Civil War; the Reconstruction Amendments were needed to found the Second Republic. That is failing now. To recover the United States from the current collapse will require changes to the Constitution.

Nobody except losers in mom’s basement are losing healthcare, apparently
Fox News is working overtime to help Republican launder their lies that actually nobody is losing Medicaid
July 3, 2025 at 3:58 PM
The other component this this scam they’re pulling off which boggles the mind is the presumption that the people who work will be able to afford very expensive healthcare plans. They are only comfortable with Medicaid when it’s a subsidy to employers not to pay for health plans, not a benefit for
McClain: "We are trying to get working able-bodied adults off Medicaid, because it was never designed to be a life-long program for people who are able to work."

Lying about who uses Medicaid—way more covers healthcare for the working poor and retirees than for young adults who could work but are unemployed—but also...

29-year-old guys living in their mom's basement and not working are mostly a GOP constituency now. There's been a whole discourse about it.
Hinson on Medicaid benefits: "They shouldn't be going to a 29-year-old guy who's living in his mom's basement choosing not to work."
July 3, 2025 at 3:25 PM
The belief that these “losers” are a ubiquity in the most indebted and economically unequal society we’ve had is laughable. If he was the loser in mom’s basement, he’d have rich parents and probably be on their insurance, or they’d be paying for him, not Medicaid.
Ogles: "The people that are getting off Medicaid are people that shouldn't be on Medicaid to begin with ... it's the loser in his mama's basement playing video games instead of going out and getting a job."
