It’s complicated. Passionate (maybe feel strongly about or maybe warm about) an Australian republic, voluntary assisted dying (VAD), the environment, climate change, being kind, professionalism in medicine, making a difference.

It will financially cripple Tasmania, but hey, let's debate it and ignore the experts! We love shiny things and the AFL said we must. 🤦‍♂️

"The Tasmanian Planning Commission (TPC) recommended against proceeding on a range of planning and financial grounds."

Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia, Aftab Malik, doesn't appear to have his own dedicated office with staff there.

Israeli Forces placed the entire city under a displacement order. But people have nowhere to go to. There is no safe place in #Gaza.

Between violent drivers/violent shooters, we've fully dropped out of global rankings for life expectancy in US.

But it's a toss-up which of our violent religions -- car culture & gun culture -- will be harder to dislodge. Since most gun owners support strict gun regs, I'm going with car culture.
Every time I hear a kid talk about how they practiced for the mass shooting that eventually came, I think it's a searing indictment of our country's failure to actually give a shit about the safety of kids.

Americans have no idea how utterly unhinged this gun fetishism looks to the rest of the world.
IMO many Americans don't even buy guns for personal protection or to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. They simply have a shopping addiction

Dearest Martha,

The National Guard stand solemn watch at the Krispy Kreme tonight. I cannot tell if they defend the people from the donuts, or the donuts from the people. Powdered sugar hangs in the air like cannon smoke. Jensen took a hot coffee to the face, he may never recover.

Yours in glaze,

“If this madness doesn’t end, Gaza will be reduced to ruins, its people’s voices silenced, their faces erased — and history will remember you as silent witnesses to a genocide you chose not to stop.”
