Good to hear the student panel busting the myth of digital natives. Whilst they are comfortable using technology for leisure, they know that using it critically and academically is different. Something that @jsecker.bsky.social and I were discussing with academics yesterday in our MA module #altc25

According to Marc Prensky's work, "digital natives" are those born after 1980. So you can be 45 and classed as a digital native. I suspect most people in this room were born after 1980, so isn’t it a defunct and unhelpful phrase? #altc25

Glad I am attending #altc25 learning lots so far, but also making me think about the implications of some of the work I am doing and how it applies to the work being undertaken in HE institutions.

If you are looking at lentil or bean based recipes on a regular basis for friends and family then you are legumescrolling.
If you're staring intently at the grass on a Welsh mountain looking for a specific type of fungi in late autumn it's shroomscrolling.
If you're looking for really fast vehicles it's vroomscrolling
