Last time I saw hand-to-hand combat like what’s unfolding at Trader Joe’s was at a Nordstrom shoe sale. Day before Easter. Last night of Passover. Needed flowers. But this being CT, it was so much more mannered than my longtime home of NJ.

PSA to publicists. When you pitch clients, reporters expect they are available for the story. Putting reporters through hoops continuously is a lousy way to build relationships. Plus, it makes this one disinclined to continue.

In all likelihood, if you use public bathrooms, you have shared them with trans people plenty of times, and nothing has happened, and you haven’t even known, because you don’t interrogate people who are just trying to use the restroom in peace, which is as it should be.
