Aaron Sorkin’s ICE will be flopsweating itself silly while a dozen awesome B movies Rebel Ridge agents left and right
If they're still making movies in 15-20 years there will be multiple Oscar noms for playing "remorseful / reflective former ICE agent who knows how Complicated history is"

Hearing from more people after this went out.
"We're all pissed. This was a lot of unnecessary stress on people and their families for nothing. And if I win the lottery tonight I absolutely will spend millions to hire people to follow these 8 Dems around for a year and make their lives miserable."

I heard from a bunch of federal employees last night and this morning. They aren't happy.
"I would rather be an actual pawn. At least pawn sacrifices are calculated and achieve something. All this for a fucking meaningless vote."

Hoop Dreams!! Good and evil, love and hate, success and failure, vice and virtue - all in two Chicago households, all on the basketball court
What is the best movie not from this year that you’ve seen this year? Bonus points if you say why

Train Dreams is in theaters this weekend before it goes to Netflix and you should see it in theaters. It's excellent. I've seen a couple times already and I'd still drop everything for 95 minutes and watch it again right now www.avclub.com/train-dreams...
Train Dreams persist through changing times in ethereal, awestruck drama
Train Dreams is a thoroughly engrossing period piece of dreamy details, quietly told and expertly performed.

I thought the controversial choice I made here would involve PREDATORS (2010) but so far the commenters think it involves THE PREDATOR (2018). Both of which are good!
I cannot fully vouch for the final Predator ranking here, but always a treat to read @rockmarooned.bsky.social Run The Series www.avclub.com/predator-run...
Like their prey, the Predator movies have evolved in order to survive
The flexible Predator franchise has changed alongside its longtime Alien counterpart, with fewer classics but more eccentricity.

I binge-capped the new Netflix series DEATH BY LIGHTNING for @vulture. Tremendously entertaining show about our American tradition of progress being undone by violent, fame-seeking dipshits. www.vulture.com/article/deat...
