For the uninitiated, the AUKUS agreement provides that the US can keep this money and decide later to hand over exactly 0 submarines. That Trump likes this deal is one of the strongest pieces of evidence to date that AUKUS is contrary to Australia's interests.

Just taking a break from my summer holiday to confirm that I will not rule out using military force to take control of the King Island Dairy. Please direct any questions to my Chief of Military below.

Hilarious. The Victorian Liberal party is truly an ungovernable, unelectable rabble. It isn't a mainstream political alternative, it's a deranged clubhouse for fringe weirdos to cosplay politics on their extreme views on niche issues. The party of the drunk, crazy Uncle/Aunt at the Christmas table.

Post an image from a movie that traumatized you 🍿

Bridges of Madison County was a helluva thing to endure as an 11 year old on a 16 hour long haul flight on those old 747s with a single movie screen for the whole cabin 😱

Hot take: Palestinians in Gaza shouldn't be bombed for the crimes of Hamas, and Jews in Australia shouldn't be targeted for the crimes of the Israeli Government. No, they're not morally equivalent. They don't need to be morally equivalent for both to be true.

In absolutely classic #auspol form, Niki Savva doesn't waste a word and doesn't miss by so much as a millimeter in summing up the near-terminal malaise suffocating this government. She could not be more right.

If Albanese wins the next election he should celebrate, then step aside
If Anthony Albanese loses next year, which once seemed improbable and now looks possible, he will shoulder much of the blame and his legacy will be trashed.

Community support for things like #AUKUS is easy to manage when you effectively bypass it, and then claim to have it anyway on the basis of broadly defined, generic national polls.

My first observation in this new place, in the lengthening shadow of the Election of Rage, is that it is already feeling decidedly quieter in the old place, while this new place seems to be bubbling up with activity. And that is probably for the best. Dum spiro, spero.
