I decided to repost that article because it beautifully highlights how good nutrition supports stable energy, strong bones and teeth, healthy weight, and overall well-being. I think it’s especially helpful for parents and caregivers.

As a future dentist, I plan to use my nutrition background to casually guide patients toward habits that support oral health, like reducing added sugars and choosing foods that protect enamel. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I've been trying to fix my sleep schedule. Sleep is so important for a healthy lifestyle and also for aging. So underrated for college students; however, we need to prioritize it over anything!

it's so important to never trust a post "at first sight" especially now in the modern age where it is so easy to brainwash people online!

There are a couple things I’ll look for in a social media posts concerning nutrition, those are the source of the post, the research that back it up, most importantly I will look for the credentials of the people posting it. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I’m most excited for a loaded serving of mashed potatoes with gravy—they’re always the cozy highlight of the holiday for me. If you want a simple version, just simmer peeled potatoes until tender, mash with butter, warm cream, salt, and pepper, then whip it.

One thing I'm really going to look for in social media posts regarding nutrition is the source of the post, the research behind it, and the comments that the posts have, and the opinions that people have.

this is so interesting in the fact that I just thought of espresso as a "strong coffee" and nothing more about the coffee beans themselves! I'll have my coffee everyday now with a different outlook on how it's made!

Exactly! No kid should go throughout their childhood with a bad relationship of food and nutrition. A Pretzel or candy here and there wouldn't hurt, in moderation of course!
@beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Especially when caring for children it is important not to demonize and restrict foods. Nothing is good for you without moderation and discipline. @beh353.bsky.social
"Omg that is full of calories and full of sugar! So bad for you!" Have you ever considered that it is also full of joy, and with the dystopian reality we're currently in that's equally important? There is room for both nutrients and joy. It's possible.

I found this helpful article from the Mayo Clinic that offers clear, evidence-based guidance for healthy eating in children and families. It walks through nutrients, suggests nutrient-dense foods, and gives daily targets for calories, protein, fruits, veggies, . www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-life...

It stood out because it says what most shoppers need to hear: pasteurized milk keeps you safe without making your milk less nutritious. It’s a simple, no-drama reminder to skip the raw-milk hype and stick with what actually protects you and your family.

I agree Nader! His story isn't a conventional way of thinking, but puts it in a perspective to take small steps over time and progress is so important. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Tom Carroll’s Chick-fil-A moment really stood out—choosing one better option instead of giving up. It reframed how I see obesity + behavior change. Small, realistic wins matter more than perfection, and his story makes that more prominent.

Tom Carroll’s Chick-fil-A story really hit me—turning one consistent meal into a lasting habit instead of chasing quick fixes. It shifted how I see obesity and behavior change; simple, repeatable actions can spark real transformation.

One fact that really stuck with me this week is that weight bias and stigma—like the kind addressed by both Bill Maher and James Corden—can actually worsen health outcomes and lead to additional weight gain rather than help. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Totally agree with you — it’s honestly worrying how common unhealthy habits have become at such a young age. Awareness is definitely the first step, but real change comes from consistent effort in diet and activity. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
I find this post extremely important because it shows the increase of weight gain and obesity amongst people of my generation. In the future, they will most likely obtain health deficiency that could affect their life. people need to be more self-aware of daily habits@beh353.bsky.social #beh353
I learned from this week is that 32% of young adolescents are obese/overweight. It scares how many of these children will develop health disease. In my future practice, I am willing to consider nutritional factors when educating patients. I should exercise more. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I relate to this barrier the most. School, part-time work, and trying to maintain a social life, I feel like I’m running out of hours in the day. Cooking something balanced—like grilled chicken means time for grocery shopping, prepping ingredients, cooking, cleaning up. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This is so important. We don't even realize how much mental health/state affects our health aside from emotionally. For example, when I am stressed for an exam, I subconsciously eat less than I normally do. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Mental health is so important for virtually every avenue in life and this includes nutrition. Suffering from mental health disorders will also greatly impact the way one eats. Not supporting this is very upsetting.

The @nsf has also decided that clinical psychology is not eligible for NSF.

This is a crock of 💩

Clinical psych (actually clinical science) is a RESEARCH degree. Let’s just completely not support research training in mental health then.

Bad bad bad bad decision

I just finished reading this article about seafood, and wow — I had no idea how broad the category really is. It’s not just fish! 🐟 Turns out seafood includes finfish, shellfish, mollusks, crustaceans, and even seaweed in some cases. Each one brings different nutrients!

I just read about zinc supplements. I learned that they don’t just support the immune system — they also help with skin health, wound healing, and even metabolism. Definitely adding this one to my daily routine, especially with cold season coming.

I looked into intermittent fasting. It’s popular for weight loss, but studies show mixed results long-term. I’m curious—does fasting improve metabolic health beyond just reducing calories, or is the benefit mainly from eating less overall?
