Sentinel-6B launched on 17 November 2025. This NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope’s mid-infrared image shows four coiled shells of dust around a pair of Wolf-Rayet stars known as Apep for the first time. Previous observations by other telescopes showed only one. Galileo ‘fit check’ This NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope’s image reveals CANUCS-LRD-z8.6, it is part of a class of small, very distant and strikingly red galaxies called Little Red Dots (LRDs), which have been spotted in increasing numbers by Webb’s surveys of the early Universe.

I find this image remarkable.

It's of the nucleus of comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko, photographed by the ESA Rosetta spacecraft.

That bright white plume is a jet of dust and water ice blasting from the nucleus—helping form the comet's long, dusty tail as it approaches the Sun.
A rocky, rugged scene showing boulders, pebbles, and to the lower left a smooth area. At lower centre is a diffuse jet. The background is pitch black, and shadows are severe. This is the nucleus of the comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko.

A very close view of the craters that cover the surface of Saturn’s icy moon Rhea. NASA’s Cassini mission made this flyby in January 2011, passing within 76 kilometers (47 miles) at a speed of 8 km/sec (18,000 mph). This image had a resolution up to 22.6 meters per pixel towards the closer terrain.

I'll go out on a limb here and declare that the new blog post, all about the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center's crewed minimum-energy Mars mission study (1967-1969), will be posted by early December.

I anticipate that I will be run over by a bus sometime between now and then. Or struck by lightning.
