...So it went to 1.37:1 and everyone's heads were cut off throughout. I still had a good time. Like I said, they tried. They also once had a midnight screenings of Phantom of the Paradise and jacked the cime to genuinely headache-inducing levels. A bad idea, but the bad choice of true believers.

My key Baxter Avenue memory was when a contest winner picked Chaplin's City Lights to screen. A wonderful film but awkward for a multiplex as it's in the early sound 1.19:1 aspect ratio, which Baxter couldn't quite accommodate...

Me being shocked by carnage but then someone gives me "data and arguments" and I realize the carnage is good actually. A little voice inside me says, "But there's a lot of children in this carnage," but then a nice lobbyist hands me a check.

Emanuelle in America makes it all worthwhile. I've not seen most of what's in there yet but that one, that one is very special, like an atomic bomb attack.
