Vinegar Syndrome botched it not using this poster for The Bloodstained Lawn in their Bloodstained Italy set.

American politics allow for the most beautiful possibilities.

Ti West's Pearl contains a broadly incomprehensible set of referents but I guess it's interesting to learn its primary source all along is Damiano's hardcore film, Memories Within Miss Aggie (X marks the spot!). Not sure that helps it any, but worth noting.

Feeling upbeat and cheerful so I'm listening to Darkthrone. This is probably normal?

Why do they keep reusing existing movie titles when they could be going buckwild like this instead?

Throwing on Death Walks on High Heels. Watched this years ago but don't remember much other than some really weird blackface.

"Rolloni" sounds like they're making fun of Italians.

Bring back original songs for pornos. Stop cutting corners Brazzers, challenge some dude to write 1,000 smooth jazz songs about step-sisters.

Real bullet dodged there. Would've ruined a superb scene. It's funny how such ambition on Damiano's part can coexist with hacky inclinations like this (although admittedly, the pairing probably seemed a lot less glib in 1973). Damiano's golden era work is too good for S&G anyway.

Gerard Damiano after having, against all reasonable expectation, punched hardcore pornography through into the mainstream with Deepthroat: "Okay, so before we get to the sex the woman's gonna kill herself. Yeah, don't worry, the scene will be real slow and legitimately mournful."

Oh, are politics bad? I wouldn't know. I've been watching the movies.

Apparently today I decided on a double-bill about two women in their 40s saying "to hell with expectatins" and reclaiming their lives.

Got some work to do so listening to this again. Might be the album from the last decade I've listened to the most times tbh. It's very lovely but also fits perfectly into the background while doing other stuff.

I need LB back up because I forgot to log Forbidden Photos of a Lady Above Suspicion. It's by no means a great movie, but is full of fabulous wardrobe & production design. Also, people are constantly pouring themselves a drink at home, but somehow always in a different location.

Nice to hear from UK distributor Day For Night for seemingly the first time in years.

My in-laws sent us this movie as a joke and I swear to God I will not watch it until I've watched the earlier film, "Wiener Dog Nationals" (starring Alicia Witt)

Hopefully Halloween related.

Very funny to me that this Eisenstein-ian still is from an 80s porno. A little hint as @optimismvaccine.bsky.social gets back into our acclaimed annual tradition of "Yes Nut November."

Seeing In the Mouth of Madness on 35mm tonight so I skipped the Arrow 4K (for now) but I couldn't cancel the other big releases of the day. The Island will be a first for me.
