More broadly, I’ve been really working on turning back toward creating intentional ‘analog‘ spaces: terrestrial radio over streaming, physical books over the doom scroll, reducing app-based social media use almost completely and keeping it housed on my laptop, which never leaves my desk.

Oh well! Road to Hell is paved in good intentions!! No good deed unpunished and all! This is why I hate interacting with kids at work at all because even even you try to be positive there is a parent with a stick up their ass looking to pounce on someone!

Maybe I'm just bitter because I have memories of being literally a toddler and also being taught to cover my mouth by my mom and gma when I cough, and the parents who never bother to teach their kids any hygiene habits at any age at all (especially boys) increase the grossness burden on everybody.

But people are just Like This now. Parents who think their baby is God's gift to the world and Lord forbid anyone not believe the same thing. I'm used to being called rude lady, even even I have the best of intentions, I still get called rude like at least 10 times a year bc of neurodivergence. 😩

Just got called rude because I tried to show them how to cover their mouth WHILE SMILING AND TRYING TO LOOK CHEERFUL, NOT MEAN, and the mom berates me later because he had asthma. I'm sorry but if your kid's asthma is THAT bad, maybe don't bring him to the dustiest indoor environment ever???
