Oh for the good old days when every editorial board in America LOUDLY demanded the Clintons shut down their charitable organization for fear it would be used to curry favor w/Hillary if she became President 🙃

It would be a grave underestimation of the threat level if Musk is seen as a one man show as this guardian headline suggests:

“Elon Musk is becoming a one-man rogue state – it’s time we reined him in”

The first oligarchic regime in the U.S. should he properly called Trump-Musk administration.
Elon Musk is becoming a one-man rogue state – it’s time we reined him in | Alexander Hurst
He has bankrolled elections, stoked riots and ignored laws. We mustn’t make the mistake of playing nice with the world’s richest bully, says Guardian Europe columnist Alexander Hurst

Any folk who turned up, like me, for the Wolfgang Flür / Peter Duggal gig at the Zumhof, Digbeth, Birmingham; I have been informed that the gig was called off by the promoter due to technical difficulties. Ticket holders should have apparently been informed yesterday.

When Ranjit Sahota found out that a convicted terrorist was set to become a trustee at his local gurdwara, he was less than thrilled.

In India, Punjab Singh was convicted of terror offences. In Wolverhampton, he's a gurdwara trustee

Yesterday marked 50 years after one of the UK's largest unsolved mass murders.

In 1974, two bombs went off which killed 21 people and injured 182 others.

No justice, no peace? Why hasn’t there been a public inquiry into the 1974 Birmingham bombings?

A brilliant monologue on media that “explains things well”

In a time when lies are incentivised & monetised

Discovered this via @munecatmusic.bsky.social’s latest live stream and her additional commentary was really spot on

As well as seeing the ISS, you can see all of the naked eye planets in the sky tonight apart from Mercury

Venus sets early in the evening
Saturn is a bright ocre colour in the south
Jupiter is incredibly bright high in the east.
Mars rises around 8.30 pm with the moon rising an hour later.

For all the sound and fury over the fare cap, this is prob a much more important bit of news for the future of buses (though the funding needs to become consistent and reliable).
Hopefully this is a down payment on the promise of an end to bid-based funding across all areas of local gvmnt activity.
STORY

Buses will get a £1billion boost in plans to be announced on Monday.

Will be distributed based on need, population and levels of deprivation...rather than making local areas waste time and resources on competitive bidding wars

Transport Secretary Louise Haigh said it would bring to an end the postcode lottery of unreliable bus services - with funding allocated on need, levels of deprivation and population
