The soul crystal lodged onto his heart basically serves a main function as a sort of pacemaker. He has a deadly form of aether sickness from his stunt in ultima thule, but the crystal absorbs aether in, keeps him alive, and serves as a sort of reserve to draw (very limited) magic from.

LRT is one of those things I have a pet peeve about, not just because talking down your own work is like. Mentally unhealthy, but because how are people going to believe in your work when you don’t? You have to be your number one cheerleader !!!
