In 2016, I had the opportunity to be in conversation with Nikki Giovanni about her life, her work, and her friend James Baldwin. In 1973, she and Baldwin engaged in an extended conversation about race, gender, art, and politics that was taped in London and later broadcast to many around the world.
I go back to this conversation often.

Definitely the biggest lesson I learned this year. I have way less patience dealing with the ignorance here in the bubble.
I can’t out-logic somebody that doesn’t have their mind grounded in reality.
