Burnout is clinically understood as a combo of 6 factors—work overload, lack of control, insufficient rewards, breakdown in community, absence of fairness, & value conflicts—and only a fraction of it is under your control. Burnout is a systemic problem, so be kind to yourself and hard on the system.
Hey gang I've had to learn recently that the whole "burning out" thing is real so if you find yourself being panicked every waking second that you're not working on something, despite those seconds being very rare, you should maybe listen to the signals and take an intentional break before you crash

keep thinking about two things from a recent panel on anti-fascism:
- people united to fight fascists didn’t need a shared definition of fascism first (they needed each other)
- not everyone in the group wanted to fight the same way, but they agreed not to denounce one another over those differences

It's comforting to think about what cave paintings represent. To me, it's that the creative spirit existed well before capitalism. Even as people tell you it has no value while trying to steal and poorly imitate it to line their pockets.

Random thought but it's unfortunate to me how the debate is misused. Debates are meant to be for learning, intellectual challenge, and collaboration. They are *not* meant for dogmatic assertion, power plays, or making someone look stupid. You should end shaking hands, not yelling.
