I’m going to deal with this all by buying another chainsaw and getting rid of the largest dying tree in my yard. But if the extension office confirms what this is on the bark of the crepe myrtle, it’s next.

2026 needs another greenhouse. How many are too many? Just kidding, they’re like books—never too many

Last night i was cooking and singing along to Phantom of the Opera. Youngest walked in, said NO, and walked out.

I would like all the tech bros ruining everything to be subjected to the merciless opinions of teens and tweens until they accept how deeply uncool they are. It builds character.

Don’t fuck with archivists. They are librarians with sociopathic tendencies.

The pride I feel for pulling the fridge out, yanking the icemaker and chipping out the block is really overblown but I get my iced latte tomorrow morning now! I’ll never buy another Samsung appliance because I do not enjoy doing this every two weeks.

"I'll burn down your house" - legally actionable, boring, common

"I told the trees about you" - legally acceptable, foreboding, unsettling, the plants know your name and hate you

Oh, they just cooked a dish that all members of the family ate and enjoyed.

The guy who told me to smile when I was exhausted, 7 months pregnant and gassing up my car at 5:30 am on my way to work—this is what he has to wear now.

So if the scientific method became a corporeal entity and started following people around bellowing things like WHAT DATA DO YOU HAVE TO SUPPORT THAT HYPOTHESIS, I feel like it would need a cute nickname. I haven’t landed on a good nickname yet, though.

I ran 3/4 of a marathon in my dream last night and I’m pretty sure dream marathons are the way to go. Kind of sad I didn’t get to finish the race before waking up, though.

How dare you interrupt snuggle time with your pictures and comments about how cute we are!

It stuns me when randos ring my doorbell and stand there wanting me to open the door whilst my dog barks her intention to shuffle them off the mortal coil. Mousey loves us, all kids, her cats, end of list.

I’ve offered my kids a commemorative pin for any hikes they go on with me and I’m sad to report that it appears to have demotivated at least one of them. The other seems more interested in the hike than the pins?!? Love my kids and will never understand them but that’s part of the fun.

This last weekend @belindap.bsky.social and I went on an 11 mile hike to see some dino tracks and it was so much fun. There’s no one else who I’d rather have tell me that not only could I do the last half mile up a bunch of steps, but more importantly I had to 😆❤️🦖🦕
