📣THREAD: It’s surprising to me that so many people were surprised to learn that Signal runs partly on AWS (something we can do because we use encryption to make sure no one but you–not AWS, not Signal, not anyone–can access your comms).

It’s also concerning. 1/
PSA: we're aware that Signal is down for some people. This appears to be related to a major AWS outage. Stand by.

We love a challenge. IWSR brought us a can / bottle / barrel shaped one and we drank it up!

As a global leader in market analysis for the alcohol industry, IWSR needed a user-friendly application fast enough and scalable enough to cope with dauntingly varied data sets.

Isotoma recently signed up to an EV salary sacrifice scheme, so we're always interested in new developments in the market.

Kerb chargers sound like a great idea, but is it really a 'game changer' if a parking space outside your house can't be guaranteed?

Loving the em/en dash discourse. Work with Isotoma, we've been caring about this stuff for *decades*.

Yes, there is a typographic *and semantic* distinction between en dash, em dash, hyphen, and minus sign. Come fight us if you think different!
This reminds me that there is *still* no shortcut for an en dash (–) on a PC. Until I got a Mac, I did genuinely have a window open for copy and paste, unless I was writing in Word, which would autocorrect it for me.
Do people who have a hot key shortcut set up for typing em dashes realize you can just Google "em dash" every time you need one for one or two decades, then just scroll down the results until you see one and carefully copy-paste it back into your document?
