UAW Supports Medicare for All 🧵

Every working-class person deserves decent health care. No one should have to choose between seeing a doctor and putting food on the table. But that’s exactly what our current health care system does.

Imagine going to a city with a population of about 77k, and over 9 thousand (!) people show up to your rally
AOC: Some of the Republicans whose districts we visited just warned their leadership that they’re not sure they can vote for Medicaid cuts now.

We’ve got them on their back foot. But our job is not done.

We will rally every corner of the U.S.

We will not stop until they actually vote no.

I see some positive coverage of Brandon Johnson, and then I see the polls.
What is up with him
Johnson stood firm under fire in defending Chicago’s Welcoming City Ordinance.

“I think we showed the world today what the soul of Chicago represents. Our soul is based on the fact that we believe that no human being is illegal,” he said at a post-hearing press conference.

He probably won’t be popular for this take, but it’s definitely right and not hard to message around
👋Fellow Democrats, the party needs to rethink all the anti-tariff absolutism. I’m a Rust Belt Democrat from swingy Western PA—where lousy trade deals like NAFTA stripped us for parts. Democrats need to break free from the zombie horde of neoliberal economists who think tariffs are always bad. 🧵

Massive encroachment by Bezos into The Washington Post’s opinion section - makes clear dissenting views will not be published

I still have not felt encroachment on my journalism on the news side, but if Bezos tries interfering with the news side I will be quitting immediately and letting you know

Among all the differences between Connolly and AOC, this question alone would've gone so much better.
With federal employers under attack, she would've used her position to agitate workers across the country to organize. You can tell bc she's doing it rn anyways.
Instead, we got... this 😐
Asked what he recommends federal workers do, Gerry Connolly says: "I guess if you can, cover yourself and do the five things you did last week"

Germany going through the same thing as America is unsettling.
In the 40s it was a handful of countries that made the clear fascist turn. But now that’s the rule with few exceptions
Once upon a time, the social democrats were the workers’ party in Germany.

In the election today the extreme right AfD gained 3x more support from workers than the SPD.

What?? Hello??
Asked about lessons from 2017, Jeffries wishes Congress would have given CEOs what they asked for. What??

JOURNALIST: Lessons learned since 2017 tax fight?

JEFFRIES: House Dems are the common sense caucus...we could have landed the plane right at 24-25% corporate tax rate like the CEOs asked for.

We looked at what it would take to cut $2 trillion, and while I don't recommend doing it, you really could save massive amounts by going after profit-hungry contractors, privatized boondoggles, systemic overpayments, and a mountain of tax avoidance. prospect.org/economy/2025...

to quote the great Nancy Pelosi, “this is not an attempt to ban TikTok, it’s an attempt to make TikTok better. Tic-tac-toe: a winner. A winner.”

This is what happens when you have a Democratic Party with zero political instincts.
TikTok is appealing to a right wing populist to have some basic common sense in its final moments, and so many other people are (tbh I am too)

Seeing new Instagram’s layout right as the TikTok ban goes through makes it very clear to me that whatever happens, people are NOT gonna flock to Meta to fill the void
