I’m seeing a lot of soft takes from industry mutuals at the moment that we shouldn’t be so hard on those who use generative AI because it’s becoming harder and harder to resist.
Wrong. Betraying your ethics (and your peers) because ‘everyone else is doing it’ does not suddenly make it acceptable.

Look at that, turns out that when you lay off your staff to replace them with the uninteresting results machine your product turns out to be uninteresting, who would've thought. Anyways, how was your #spotifyWrapped ?

As an artist the ai thing is very tiring because it has some very interesting uses ( I can think of a few in research, for starters) but it's being used to undercut jobs and make art that's uninteresting by definition, not to mention impersonation and all that...
