Congress should reinstate the Office of Management and Budget's public apportionment tracker now.

My brain literally cannot comprehend all of the bad stuff that just happened today so instead: scholastic book fair now has online wallets that you can use for your kiddos at the book fair- but also, you can donate to “share the fair” so others w/o can get books.

I am working out of a public library and there are a good number of people who seem to be on hard times using the facilities for various reasons like job searching, entertainment, charging peripherals, using the bathroom, etc., and I am struck by how important it is that libraries continue to exist

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company.

It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create.

They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms.

I’m happy to invest and/or help

Red and blue states alike recognize the need for journalist-source confidentiality.

Let's hope Idaho's shield bill gets across the finish line.
Idaho House unanimously passes media shield law bill protecting journalists’ sources • Idaho Capital Sun
Supporters said the bill would help combat frivolous lawsuits and provide protections similar to existing whistleblower laws.

Kudos to @404media.bsky.social for leading by example and lowering the paywall on any article that's primarily based on public records.

If a small, independent outlet can afford it, others have no excuse.
