I sometimes say that making a movie or a game or some remake was 'pointless' but I don't think it's the same as it shouldn't exist at all, even if I think it's absolute slop it probably means something for someone

yeah the wild misinformation going on in basically every article comment section, when accurate information is *right there*, is astounding
i am going completely insane watching gamers make up shit about horses and interrogating every single thing the devs have said for inconsistencies and then deciding well it probably had cp in it. this is the easy mode version of the kinds of censorship that are to come and you're failing like babies

'DualSense is at a sale for 60 euros!' What? The meme controller that breaks in two years is -only- 60 euros, the price of any regular controller that doesn't have a fancy rumble gimmick?

It's a complex, critically praised, but otherwise unremarkable book, released to no controversy and no backlash. No bookstores refused to sell it, and it even got translated from its original Spanish in to English.

If it were a video game every major platform would refuse to sell it.

The book deals with complicated topics - objectification of others, systemic misogyny, the meat industry, the way we reduce other people to their utility in our lives, the way that we have to opt-in to empathy, the way modern life separates us from the horrors our lives necessitate, etc.

Marcos (a vegan) begrudgingly works for a slaughter house of special meat (which we see the process of making up close). He's gifted a breeding-age woman as part of a business transaction, and even though she cannot speak (special meat is not educated at all) he starts a relationship with her.

In Agustina Bazterrica's Tender is the Flesh, a virus has killed all non-human animals and the only source of meat left is other humans. Society has adapted by, effectively, creating a class of people who are no longer people - 'special meat.'

People are using SteamDB updates on Armored Core 6 as a basis on it maybe getting DLC announced during Game Awards, but I'm still hoping that they don't do that because it feels like they'll reduce the past expansions of the series into just a DLC

I'm almost 32 years old so I don't use online apps to listen to music that much but off the top of my head I can say that I've probably listened to a ton of harmoe again this year

"Sex with Hitler" is a series of games you can buy on Steam.
Horses shows "abuse, gory imagery (mutilation, blood), depictions of slavery, physical and psychological torture, domestic abuse, sexual assault, suicide"

It also implies someone is r*ped until they die. It's implied someone comitts necrophillia on the corpse.

Why are we mad about this ban?

respectfully, just because something gives you the ick, doesn't mean it should be banned. Art *IS* supposed to make us uncomfortable.

there may be groundbreaking games that many may consider beautiful works of art, but until material conditions allow games like Horses to exist peacefully, i just don’t think “games as art” will ever be taken seriously.

Let's make this clear: if you claim to be leftist, pro-LGBT, pro other minorities etc, then you MUST stand up for freedom of artistic expression, which means defending the right for legal but icky art to exist. Not doing so directly empowers the worst kind of actors wishing to eradicate minorities 🧵

I think a lot of translators are the same way, especially over the titles we hold closest to our hearts.

Translation requires a high degree of writing skill to make lines punch when we want them to punch, to weave when we want them to weave, and more.
