Nope, he was a racist xenophobe who whitewashed genocide & endlessly platformed Farage & his ilk.
Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you, Tim. The bad part of this is that the government doesn't have a moral compass, so we won't get a decent appointment.

Tim Davie is not a “decent man”
He has led and shaped a BBC that with impunity routinely demonises migrants - especially Black and Brown men - vilifies those seeking asylum, attacks Trans+ people - especially women and girls - and treats the poor with contempt

This, of course, is absolutely incorrect. Christianity's rise to dominance in the Roman Empire under Constantine & after, for example, depended heavily on the support of & sanctioned violence by the Roman state to supplant the many religious traditions of the ancient world. 10/x

Christianity's entire self-image & appeal is founded on the myth of the Good News. In this frame, Christianity has mostly been accepted voluntarily because it brought virtue & goodness.
JD Vance's recent, awful comments on Indigenous Americans are an uglier example of this tendency. 8/x

The same was also true of Nazi Germany where mainstream churches, like the Lutheran, Reform, & Catholic churches lent their support to the regime & negotiated preferential treatment to stay on the regime's good side. While some resisted, they were the exception in terms of policy & action. 4/x

The fact is these guys are unquestionably, indisputably Christian to the core. Nick Fuentes, for example, would fit right in among the Catholics who eagerly, happily fought for Mussolini, Franco, the Argentine junta, Pinochet, & a whole gaggle of red-handed fascists who enjoyed Church support. 2/x
