Yeah living in a gerontocracy is just weird.

I am old, about to retire. And I would be a really young member of the US senate.

Yeah, and Sanders and Warren are older. But I bet matters less as you move toward more progressive senators. For moderates, age may be decisive?

If we went back to having most faculty be tenured or tenure track (and having enough faculty), the service load would be spread more widely and less burdensome.

What’s the average age of the yeses and nos on this vote? Seems relevant in for the ruling gerontocracy.

Lots of us have expressed concern about Trump’s potential cognitive decline.

But anyone in a position of serious leadership should have some obligation toward transparency around physical health and cognitive decline as they age.

A risk of gerontocracy.

Is Your Political Candidate Showing Early Signs of Dementia?
Politicians, like everyone else, age. Some will develop Alzheimer's disease or dementia. How worried should we be about potential cognitive declines in aging politicians?

I have rain pants for really wet days. The fender does help. Cuts the wet and mud strip along my backside.

On really ugly days, I ride my ebike which has all kinds of fenders and I wear more gear.

Planning to ride extra after work today while it's nice. Take advantage of nice weather in November.

It is warmer than usual and I had to put my fender on this morning.

I'm good.

50 degrees and a little damp. Perfect November cycling weather.

Wondering if she is really this naive or if she thinks the people are this naive.

Or maybe she was just worried about getting her flight home for the Thanksgiving recess. Or maybe her donors were complaining to her.

Yes I understand there might be a long-term game strategy of keeping healthcare as the main focus of the midterm elections next year.

But I am tired of treating people’s lives as political games.

Yes, I will still work to elect democrats because consider the alternative. But they don’t make it easy.

Those were always a given, mostly. Even money says Trump tries to continue not funding SNAP and tries to keep some people from returning to work.

So those aren’t wins.
