I think it’s actually really important to make sure that bad actors cannot manipulate us using our data. The problem with the TikTok ban is didn’t address the fundamental data security issues at play here. They could’ve developed policy around data privacy and manipulation. 1/

1. If ByteDance keeps the algorithm (which China says is their IP) then TikTok becomes another Instagram (boo).
2. If ByteDance sells the algorithm then we are in more danger than originally thought because why the sudden team up 😬
