His illness will get worse, my mum will get weaker, neither of them are safe and nothing will be done until there is an emergency

CNN: Do you like capitalism?

ZOHRAN MAMDANI: No. I have many critiques of capitalism.

In the words of Dr. King decades ago, he said, 'Call it democracy or call it democratic socialism; there must be a better distribution of wealth for all of God's children in this country.'

The Supreme Court issued a stay, effectively ruling, for now, that the Constitution no longer applies, at least not to immigrants. Fast-track deportations with no opportunity for judicial review violate the fundamental principle of due process, especially for people already on U.S. soil.

Not to rain on everyone’s ceasefire-not-ceasefire parade, but that wrecking ball of a big dumb bill is still working its way through the Senate and still launching an assault on women, wages, benefits, and the entire working class

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

Much as I would not dare to predict the consequences of this war, I do think we can summarize it thusly so far:

A smart and evil man manipulated a stupid and evil man into a war against a fanatical and evil regime.

“Running the government like a business” is just another way of saying that we should privatize government services afforded to everyone.

You know who would love that? Wall Street and big corporations.

I signed the final bills Melissa Hortman shepherded through the most narrowly divided legislature in the county. All of them bipartisan.

We debated, we found common ground, and we compromised.

That’s how democracy should function.

This is not normal. A sitting president refusing to call the governor of a state after two elected officials were shot, one fatally, is beyond words. A typical president, regardless of politics, would pick up the phone. Offer condolences.

Cuomo quietly passed a law shielded nursing home corporations and their CEOs from COVID victims families' lawsuits - as his political machine raked in $2 million from the hospital/nursing home lobby.

Now, voters may reward him by making him their mayor.
“They Can’t Hold The Nursing Homes Responsible”
Across New York state, Cuomo’s nursing home liability shield has caused a legal chilling effect, reducing a deterrent to corporate wrongdoing.
