This idea that ICE rounds up people in blue states and then pre-deports them to a red state because they're not hung up on due process or evidence or any of that old-fashioned stuff really reveals to what extent we seem to have already had a civil war without calling it one.

In accounting for fascism, we often fixate on the leader-figure "who decides on the exception", suspending law for regime aims. But the other side are all those who get to *be* the exception, committing violence with impunity, solicited and welcomed by the powers-that-be. Exhibit A right here.

I’m sure I’m not the first to point this out but if the president is asserting the right to deport immigrants without due process, that includes the due process of discovering whether they are in fact immigrants, which means he’s asserting the right to deport anyone he wants.

Jesus Christ. So any person in the US possessing fentanyl would be subject to potential life in prison, and if someone ODs, the dealer would be subject to the federal death penalty.

This is an administration at war with reality and the law.

The men sent to do hard labor in a Salvadoran prison:

- A tattoo artist seeking asylum who entered legally.
- A teen who got a tattoo in Dallas because he thought it looked cool.
- A 26-year-old whose tattoos his wife says are unrelated to a gang.
- A barber whose family says he has no gang ties.

Time for this to stop. And we lawyers will continue to fight back.

Ut oh. Even Israel doesn't trust Trump with their intel now that he has shacked up with Vladimir Putin.

I guess they learned their lesson in May 2017.

As Trump pivots to Russia, allies weigh sharing less intel with U.S.
Members of the so-called Five Eyes spy alliance, as well as Israeli and Saudi officials, fear the identities of foreign assets could inadvertently be shared with Moscow.

Aptly articulated by Donald Tusk

Europe has three times the population of Russia, ten times its GDP, and far better military technology

We probably don't even need to spend Cold War-like amounts of money in our defense to successfully deter Russia

I think any smart analysis of the situation in europe needs to step back and consider what russia has actually accomplished in ukraine in the last 3 years:

-taken some territory
-suffered so many losses it has instituted conscription and dusted off armor/vehicles from '60s
-lost its own territory

Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver.

This is what "merit" means to them.
