Survivors of violence have little recourse in Germany, when institutions keep women at a disadvantage. How do you flee violence at home if there is no shelter and no affordable housing?
One of the reasons I want to highlight Germany's response to violence against women this week is that there were two *very good* books released this fall written by lawyers who work with survivors -- and who note that the violence is systemic.
