Just a reminder, the first 5-7 minutes of any winter bike trip will always have you rethinking your choices, but after your body acclimates, you'll begin to reap the rewards of the joy that is winter riding.

It is all but criminal that as the Inland region continues to grow, that we do not get investments into bike infrastructure to provide all the new homes and businesses a low-cost, pollution-free way to get around.
The Netherlands is to invest up to €1 billion in cycling infrastructure to connect hundreds of thousands of new homes nationwide.

Have you ever heard of the concept of "8-80" infrastructure? In this video from @anwbverkeer.bsky.social (basically the Dutch AAA), they provide an excellent overview of what knowledge kids can be expected to have about participating in traffic at different ages.

If our leaders in the Inland region continue to flood our communities with warehouses, the least they can do is enable the transport and delivery of the goods more safer and more sustainable.

Could everyone riding bicycles help end conflicts and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels?

It’s worth trying I think

Which city in the Inland region is coming remotely close to this level of expansion of their bikeway network?
New bikeways that have opened (or are very close to opening) in Minneapolis this year:

- Hennepin Avenue S
- University Avenue SE
- 24th Street E
- 1st Avenue S

It's infuriating that the Inland region has been overrun by the logistics industry, we couldn't at least have gotten a network of safe bikeways built out as part of the deal. (No, stripes in the gutter of stroads doesn't count.)
I did some field research awhile back to see how the Dutch do bike lanes in industrial areas and—folks—they're better than the shit we have in the city.
