One of the last books of 2025 - stumbling into another alternate-history without realising, three in a row. Incredibly dense and oblique beginning with diegetic future slang opens up to pretty fascinating and intricate almost-thriller. Elvis cults, Moby-Dick, Fisher-King, newspeak. Recommend.

Re-reading the 2012 reboot of PROPHET by Brandon Graham. Trying to 'out-Conan the current run of Conan' the series is such an amazing dense batch of ideas and imagery. Seems wild it doesn't seem to have a bigger footprint in the Swords & Sorcery (and Space) scene.
