My quilt, “The Price of Democracy”, a statement about how some people used the price of eggs as an excuse not to vote for a woman president in the year 2024, knowing that the other choice would try to destroy democracy here and abroad.

One of the side effects of cancelling Amazon Prime and giving all my book preorders to locally owned stores is I’m actually saving money.

I no longer window shop online for every dumb thing that enters my head and as a result impulse buys are gone. I’m not missing them.

It is really short-sighted and stupid to be gutting public health and outbreak surveillance capacity right now:
- H5N1 nationwide - uncontrolled
- TB in Kansas - largest U.S outbreak
- Measles in Texas - Expanding
- Seasonal flu - Worst in 15 years
- Pertussis - outbreaks in multiple states.
