Whitesnake is great because it’s like hey, here’s one of the low key greatest rock vocalists of all time but also he’s EXTREMELY horny

If the Rod Evans bogus version of Deep Purple came out today, people would barely bat an eye if he marketed it the right way.

This is just to say

I have looked on
the works
that were in
the desert

and which
you were probably
thinking
would still stand

Forgive me
they were trunkless
so vast
and so old
Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"
There was an old man you could gaze
At his works in despair in a daze
If you looked upon them
And were mere mortal men
'Ozymandias mighty', it says

Someday I’ll start a weird little guy sludge project called Cow Tools. Who wants in?
43 years ago today, readers the world over opened their newspapers and gazed upon cow tools for the first time. happy birthday cow tools. you look great.

Can I pretend it’s a new release if the physical version didn’t come out until this year?

Thanks to Sleeping Village Reviews for the gnarly writeup!

Helloween is the best band name because it has two different meanings depending on how you look at it:

Helloween 😈😈😈
Hello, Ween! ☺️☺️☺️

Annihilator’s Plasma Zombies is the funniest exercise of Poe’s Law because depending on how you look at it, it’s either a boomer dad freaking out about his kid playing GTA or a pointed satire about a crazed Jack Thompson-type caricature. The mid-2000s were a vibe.

Death/doom but it’s “what if Nile’s 4th Arra of Dagon and/or User Maat Re was a band”

Writing out Star Wars essays while I’m stoned is my equivalent of pretending like I’m a second century Christian mystic in Alexandria who has very strong opinions about Mary Magdalene

The classic metal and post-grunge stages are back to back today and I hope there’s some sixty year old dude here who is extremely happy about it

Static-X is fun because they’re “we have Rob Zombie at home” with a side of “what if that metal cover of Darude’s Sandstorm was a band” and I think that’s beautiful

I wrote four sets of lyrics in a single evening tonight. I haven’t done that in like twenty years. I really ought to just to keep my binder on standby whenever I’m doomscrolling at this point.

Remember kids: If I tell you to go fuck yourself and die in a fire with the most polite smile and tone of voice that I can muster, you aren’t allowed to be mad at me. That’s how this works, right?
