LISTMAS HAS BEGUN! It's the most wonderful time of year.

In typical fashion, we're posting a favorite-of-the-year list long after people have stopped caring about that sort of thing. Here's my Favorite Album Artwork of 2024!

Tee Grizzley consistently releases albums that are just okay, but also I'm perfectly content listening to a just okay Tee Grizzley album. Honestly, I feel like a great Tee Grizzley album would somehow be less enjoyable.

A very strong albeit brief showing from Lola. Hope this pushes her a little bit further in the NY rapper power vacuum discussion.

DATURA - Visons for the Celestial (Review)

This heavy psych classic (?) has seen a variety of reissues since its initial release back in 1999. While I wish I had heard it way back then, I've successfully made up lost time.

Just saw the word "prolific" used in reference to an artist who has a single release. Music journalism has gone too far and must be stopped.

Drinking deep of the latest Pedestal for Leviathan this evening.

Shoutout to @kendricklemke.bsky.social for making sick music.

Started a review on Jan. 5th, 2025. Completed the very same review Nov. 12th, 2025. That's how we do it at Sleeping Village Reviews, folks.

Not sure if you're looking for any recommendations at all, but have you heard of my wife's soup? She is one level above everyone on her scene. All her soup is fire.
Forget reviewing music. I'm gonna review this scrumptious piping hot bowl of chicken & dumpling soup my wife made.

If you missed it:
TARLUNG - Static Noise (Mini-Review)

Based solely on their moniker, what genre would you ascribe to Austria's own TarLung? Let me give you three guesses. No, wait--that's far too generous.

This is very clearly a band that revels in the simple pleasures: massive doom riffs, beast-like sludge roars, and the crushing embrace of fuzz.

Incidentally, what's everyone's favorite EP of 2024?
The LISTMAS 2024 train's next stop is FAVORITE EPs, which is a little unfortunate because unlike album art and albums, I didn't keep a running list and must simply remember everything.
