And yes, he is holding a switchblade, that's a Spanish switchblade, its not exaggerated. Authorities had banned swords to prevent excessive bloodletting, but not switchblades. So we made humongous switchblades to go back on our shit (killing each other).

Here’s the full composition!
NC Wyeth’s “Herons” from summer of 1941. I thought it was a little odd that an elder Wyeth’s painting from 1941 would be perfectly symmetrical and square, but it turns out it was an odd edit that was still appropriately attributed. It features three herons on a still path of water. Two of them stand among the reeds and lily pads and one of them is flying away, its reflection on the water’s surface.
