Theyve decided that voting to release the Epstein files is a fait accompli so they're going to vote to release the files but anything that involves Trump at all will be conveniently withheld as part of an "ongoing investigation". If anything of substance comes out it'll just be on Trump's enemies

Nuzzi: His hair shone white, glistening bright as a Winter's day. When he spoke I was transfixed by his intense gaze, bewildered by his labyrinthine soul. It felt like falling, though into what I couldn't be sure. Was it the warm arms of his love... or the infinite depths of his nose hole?

This is what happens when a new money dipshit meets old money, they think the narcissistic lies and manipulation that flow from the mouths of the old ghouls represent some sort of profundity. They're trying to piece together nonsense because there *must* be something there, but there isnt

Unsalvageable party
Raskin: We are a big tent. We must be a huge, vast tent. I say this is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene if she wants to come over.

McWhorter is a reactionary who is trying to exculpate Europeans and white people generally from the horrors of the colonial slave trade as a means of heading off critique of our current state of inequality and it's roots in white supremacy. A motivated argument meant to maintain the status quo
Man, I learned this in history class 25 years ago. It's not hidden. It's fair to say that it's hard for many people to learn about and uncomfortable to talk about, but it's not hidden and it's not untold. (gift link.)

More Americans are turning to peptides for muscle building, skin rejuvenation, and to live longer, even though the substances aren’t FDA approved. Doctors warn that none have undergone adequate clinical trials and the supposed benefits are unproven.
Americans are injecting themselves with unproven peptides sold by influencers and RFK Jr. allies

Bloomberg News
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

I've noticed we haven't been seeing much Stephen Miller lately and I can only assume it's because even the Trump admin realizes he is a weird creep who hurts their narrative every time he speaks

When Larry Summers decries the "elites" he's railing against his own unreflective conscience fighting a battle against his repugnant id. The id keeps winning but the deep knowledge that he is an evil human follows him like a spectre that he cant see or understand but constantly feels

Had a chat with my barber and some politics came up, specifically migration. he's a nice guy who I like, but it's crazy how easy people think it is to gain legal citizenship and even basic asylum claims in this country. That propaganda runs deep, man

Granted its Politico, but one wonders if enough people in the GOP feel like Trump got them where they wanted to go and are ready to cut bait now that he isn't just an embarrassment but a liability. Voting to release the files may be seen as a CYA move by relatively savvy GOP politicians (and donors)
“.. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), the co-sponsor of the bill with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), told reporters Wednesday he believed ‘40 to 50’ Republicans would join Democrats in supporting the bill in the House.”

Doesn't really help that the Dem base is *also* afraid of pissing off the GOP base and votes accordingly in the primaries.

Centrist Dems and the GOP both lie constantly but at least Republicans play to their base and do it towards an end. Dems just fucking hate their base, are pissed as hell that they're expected to do anything at all, but still beg for donations like they're fighting for something. They're rotten souls

Someone needs to learn what "bad faith" means, because it's not just "I don't like feckless corporate Dems". When they keep doing the things we accuse them of doing we are not speaking in bad faith, we just understand them better than you do. There is no rhetorical game here, it's just analysis
