Slowly coming back to reality. Between job switching, learning totally new tech stack, bit of covid and problem with spinal nerves I barely had time to hang out here and limited my visit to project updates.

Today was first day in ages I just came here to watch other people's stuff. So much fun!

Followed TheGamedevTavern's 20 episodes long tutorial on beat em ups and as I started plugging in my own art I realised that I want to make a full game about tiny Kaijus.

The preprod period is coming to an end. Time to evolve the concept and make something awesome.

So I'm progressing with the preproduction of my 4 months long game, and getting closer to finalizing the general prototype for majority of mechanics.

2 weeks left in the preprod phase, gotta test throwing system for better crowd control, and try and do as much proper design paperwork as I can.

A friend printed more of my photos and gave me the prints as a present. Before I never thought about having my works hanging around the house, but it does feel nice.

First pass of spritesheet for both basic aliens and the Rex has been completed. Some are very obviously temp, but for now they work.

The Tiny Kaiju beat'em'up is progressing! First combo and some proper hit reactions from the enemies added. Animation art is temporary, but it feels so much better than just having static poses.

Experimenting with the visual feedback for the dialogue. When the Player chooses the wrong answer, they take damage points (shown by the heart meter) and have ꜱᴀᴠᴀɢᴇ ᴍᴀɢᴇɴᴛᴀ on their face.

They should enjoy it and come back for more.

I have managed to capture a hummingbird hawk-moth in the garden!

I've been hunting for this one for quite some time, but it never appeared in a full sun. Until today. I didn't have my macro lens on me unfortunately, but used my main wildlife Tamron 150-600 lens as a decent approximation.
