I woke up this morning to discover that Facebook's algorithm had determined I'd committed some offence against their (not very clear) community standards. I protested and, to my surprise, with a couple of hours my account was reinstated. They never did say what triggered my expulsion.

More proof that the province of BC is doing AMAZING work when it comes to recruiting American healthcare workers... a member of our Healthcare Infusion community sent me this...
B.C. literally bought THE ENTIRE FRONT COVER of the U.S. nurses' main monthly magazine.

In 1921, the German Supreme Court had some things to say about killing unarmed people at sea.

They called it a war crime.

The case involved a German submarine that shelled lifeboats from a Canadian hospital ship it had just sunk in WW1.

This is Canada, NOT the USA. We are supposed to have health care for all - universal medicare. Get rid of Smith.
ALBERTA: Bill 11 raises healthcare costs for everyone by introducing two-tier care ⚠️.

Families pay more out of pocket. Public wait times grow. Doctors move to elite private clinics for the rich. The public system gets weaker.

For some reason (mental overload perhaps?) I totally forgot about this platform for a wee while. As a result, I spent a lot of time this morning scrolling, reading and catching up.

I managed to avoid most of the uber-depressing news from south of the 49th parallel.

Harper was also a dangerous person. He is PP’s mentor. He chaired a far-right organization. He weakened our institutions.

I laid out the extremist strategy for destroying democratic institutions and how Canadians can resist.
Great engagement. Two standing ovations and lots of powerful questions.

WTF????? So wrong!
Charlie Kirk's death was a tragedy.
But he built his name on provocation and white supremacy.
He said that gun deaths of innocents was "worth it."
On Mark Carney's first day as PM in Parliament Liberals gave Kirk a standing ovation.
Ceding ground to extremism won't make them nicer.

It seems that even here in Canada, politicians (regardless of party affiliation) are subjected to verbal abuse and the ongoing threats of personal harm. That is SO wrong. They deserve to know what the security threat status is.
I spoke many times with Catherine McKenna about the failure of the RCMP/Parliamentary Security to address rising levels of threat.
Homes were outfitted with security cameras but little was done to track online threats.
Good people gave up on serving the public.

Autumn is my favourite season of the year. The cool, crisp mornings of September and October, followed by warm(ish) afternoons as the sun's strength ebbs. The brightly coloured red, orange and yellow leaves on assorted hardwood trees make me smile. It's a great time to get outdoors.

Remembering Jack Layton.
Jack talked me into running for politics. He said Canada needed people who were not afraid to stand up.
I believed him. I still do.
Jack loved this country. He believed in the goodness of the Canadian people.
I try to carry that light with me.

Right now, the calculus that every Canadian consumer has to make, is "does buying this product make me complicit in ICE kidnappings and concentration camps? Am I helping to fund an eventual Fascist invasion of my own country?"

U.S. products look pretty bad in that light. They look like pure poison.
An American colleague told me about an elbows up experience he had in Canada. He asked the bartender what kind of bourbon she had.
The woman replied, "Honey, as long as that orange asshole is in power, you will never get a drink of bourbon here."

Mark Carney's government announced they were ready to discuss Canada coming under the "protection" of Trump's golden dome.
This is a repudiation of decades of Canadian policy on the independence of our air space.
And Pete Hegseth is the guy we would be negotiating with.
