On the Ides of March I went for a walk in my rural New Brunswick (Canada) neighbourhood. There are signs of spring wherever you look. Ice is gone from the beaver pond, streams, and fields. It was 8ºC and the sun shining brightly in a clear sky.

Our family! Lucy, the caico kitty, has been with us for 3 years. She came from our local cat rescue organization SOS (Save our Strays). Her big brother, Harley, is a nine-year-old Standard Poodle. He used to be black but is now turning gray (like the rest of us).
