people bitch about woke media but if TOS was on today they would go to a thinly-veiled MAGA planet where the locals worshipped guns and then kirk would hit the orange dictator with a two-fisted karate chop before giving a lecture about how science is real and violence is bad

(Why Dems took deal, part 2: If they were to lose the veto referendum, the 13-2 map would be in 2028.)

I'll let others debate what Dems should do or should have done here, but where fair maps really lost was when the GOP put confusing language on the ballot last year: boltsmag.org/ohio-issue-1...
Anti-Gerrymandering Groups Warn That Ohio’s Ballot Language Is Misleading Voters  - Bolts
If “yes” on Issue 1 wins, it'd create an independent redistricting process. But some voters are saying the GOP-crafted ballot summary tricked them into opposing a reform they support.

if you have some kind of real connection to that period of history, if it wasn't just a complete abstraction, there's just no way to countenance the faintest "fascination" with it

like so many other problems today, this phenomenon is born out out of abstraction, and disconnection from the reality

“It’s not clear what caused the crash”
“The crash happened on a highway on-ramp coming into downtown just before 3 a.m.”

The article fails to mention that this is one of the major bike lanes into downtown (and also one of the worst designed bike lane in the city)

A huge issue with coverage of e-bikes is that journalists are taking their cues from police and local politicians, two groups that are fueling the negativity over e-bikes. There are legitimate concerns, but the coverage is so unbalanced.

Canadian families could purchase a brand new Urban Arrow FamilyNext electric cargo bike, use it for a year, throw it a dumpster, buy another one, and still be ahead financially when compared to buying a new automobile.

Unbelievable, right? Do the math yourself an you'll see
