Musk's seizure last night of the federal payment system must be understood as a coup. Even if Musk/Trump don't abuse this staggering power, they now possess it. There may be legal ways to attempt to restore it to nonpartisan function. There may not be, in the near future, actual means to do so.

I don’t think that’s very clear at all. Trump and his Nazi billionaire friend are trying to destroy government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Anyone still on their side doesn’t want to work with you ever again. And the people who are on your side want you to stand in their way.

I really can’t wrap my head around congressional Democrats’ response to the past 12 days of crises. It reeks of pathetic capitulation. Trump is asserting dictatorial powers of absolute control over the entire government and the reaction is “we don’t swing at every pitch”? An appalling abdication.
