The American healthcare system is so infuriating. Trying to make an appointment with a specialist for my kid and, "We need a diagnosis to schedule her," is their response.

That's why I'm trying to make the appointment with you, assholes, to GET a diagnosis. FFS.

Somewhat improbably, my dad's 45+ year old jar of our baby teeth coming in handy a second time, as my kid needs teeth for her school science project.

Thanks, Meta AI for suggesting I turn this photo of beautiful lumpia our neighbor made into a photo of…rectangular hot dogs?

Are there honestly enough people with pet orangutans that the allergist needs it as an option on the pre-visit questionnaire?

Made a Dubai chocolate cake at my kid’s request for her birthday. Did not expect to like it, but it’s actually pretty good.

My dad has delivered Meals on Wheels for over 40 years. He's now delivering meals to people younger than he is. Aside from nutrition, the program is an important safety net by ensuring seniors are checked on and provided some companionship.

Important stat from first Little League game of the season: not one, but two kids on the team wearing the socks over the pants, with one pulling them all the way to mid-thigh.

When the news is unrelenting and Elon Musk seems to have assembled an army of dipshits without a shred of decency, a small good thing is my kid winning an award for empathy. The world may feel full of assholes, but I’m not raising one.

THIS AMERICAN DOES NOT WANT YOU TO WORK TOGETHER WITH A FUCKING FASCIST TO FIND COMMON GROUND ON WHICH PARTS OF DEMOCRACY WE NO LONGER NEED
"It is very clear that, if there is a middle of all of this hot mess of division, Americans want us to work together when we can and find common ground," Sen. Amy Klobuchar tells the Opinion writer Michelle Cottle.

Not science related, but federal funds ensured my daughter learned to crawl, eat solids, walk, keep up with her peers, read, & write, & supports her education today. Those funds mean she will be an independent, self-sufficient adult, just one who had to work a lot harder than others to get there.
Post the amazing science things you have done with federal funding.
