RULES Read an Abigail Hilton (@alhilton) book. Get them directly from the author at https://shop.abigailhilton.com/, or through the usual channels on Audible, Amazon, etc. Leave a fresh review in a blog or social medium of any language. For legal reasons, I can't accept reviews on commercial sites, but Goodreads, Tumblr, Bsky, Mastodon, VK, Facebook, or what have you, are all good! Message me (here or on Tumblr @ikrutt) with a link to the review in question. It does not have to be long or fancy, but it has to be a written review. Using AI to generate it will get you booted from the contest - you don't have to stoop that low! Just read and/orlisten a book and write some words. Each new review is assigned a number (which I'll tell you) which counts as a ticket for the draw. I don't care if you crosspost the review to other sites, still counts individual tickets! Haven't read anything new in a while, but seeing @ibenkrutt.bsky.social's posts inviting others to read books from Abigail Hilton, I chose Hunters Unlucky given that it was xenofiction, and that's almost always better than yet another book about people.

Fun characters, and importantly written to be explicitly not human, and the world the inhabit is given enough life and variety to keep it interesting, not least in the amount of species present. While long, I found myself reading it in long stretches, and didn't get tired. Easy recommend :>

Aztec/Mayan Futurism + Spanish Colonial slum. All while being semi-abstract. It's a hard edge to walk. Some concepts are more successful than others. This is one of the first environment concepts I did.
