On #NationalSeniorsDay, let's celebrate the wisdom, humour, and countless contributions that older adults bring to our families and community. At Seniors Outreach, they don’t just take part in programs – they lead them, they volunteer their time, assist with activities, and care for others. 💙

Watch out, if the Blue Jays pitchers can find a way to stop giving up so many home runs. Another strong pitching outing blighted by the long ball. I am liking the Jays options to roll with 3 good starters in playoffs. Last 20 games will be interesting!

4.5% vacancy rate is a healthy rental market! Good results from City's planning team & housing providers. Still a vital need for below-market rental housing in #Kelowna, especially along transit corridors. Capstone is noteworthy with 70+ Rent-Geared-Income units www.castanet.net/news/Kelowna...

There are growing calls for the province to regulate service fees the same way it does rent to stop 'price gouging.'

We need to build 16,858 long-term care beds over the next decade to care for B.C.'s aging population.
When asked indirectly why the gov should make this investment, Seniors Advocate Dan Levitt said: because seniors deserve to receive care in LTC beds, not hospital hallways.
Me for @thetyee.ca
B.C. needs to invest $17 billion to make sure seniors in the province are properly cared for over the next decade, according to a new report.

It’s an extraordinary cost, but not taking action will add up to an even greater impact. @michellegamage.bsky.social reports. #bcpoli
