so our government made a big deal about banning speed cameras but one city left theirs running to see what difference the ban would make and you are not going to believe this

At the end of the day I'm not sure how much difference it makes. But it is striking to put out a budget that axes a luxury tax on yachts and adds a co-pay for refugee claimants accessing drugs and dental care.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Here is Doug Ford saying he would 'absolutely support Trump. I wouldn't waver. The GOP is wavering, but I wouldn't waver." He then goes on to excuse harassing women.

The truck used in the New Orleans terrorist attack is a Ford F-150 Lightning, which is perfectly designed for this kind of attack.

It weighs more than 6000 lbs, accelerates to 60 mph in just 4 seconds, and the battering-ram-shaped front is nearly 5 feet tall. Deadly by design.

New study from IIHS shows that car bloat is dangerous even at low speeds:

If hit by a sedan going 27 mph, a pedestrian has a 60% chance of a moderate+ injury and 30% chance of a serious one.

If it's a pickup going 27 mph, those odds rise to 83% and 63%, respectively.

This is SHOCKING. Among everything else that’s despicable about this, ITS A CLEAR ADMISSION THAT THEY KNOW THAT DOING THIS WILL OBVIOUSLY ENDANGER LIVES.

People rode bikes on these streets before the bike-lanes (albeit fewer) and they will again after. The inevitable blood will be on Ford’s hands.
