Yep.
Being a Jew in the age of Trump means being caught between people who think attacking people at Jewish museums is acceptable resistance praxis and people who think “fighting antisemitism” means tearing down every liberal value that made this country comparatively good for Jews in the first place.

You are my whole heart. I love you more than words.

Fantastic piece by Jews for Mask Rights excoriating @governor.ny.gov. Sharing evidence that these bans are abused by law enforcement, a violation of civil rights, and go directly against Jewish beliefs.

“using Jews to justify stripping civil rights doesn’t make us safe — it makes us a scapegoat. “
Don’t ban masks for ‘Jewish safety’
Behind closed doors, New York lawmakers are advancing a dangerous statewide mask ban. Gov. Hochul first proposed it in June 2024, framing it as a measure for “Jewish safety.” But using Jews to just…

Analogies are never perfect, but this one is instructive. If you’ll indulge me:

What would you call it if a German government ordered books from Jewish authors removed for being “subversive” and “anti-German” while having no problem with white supremacist literature?

Because that’s what this is.
Adolf Hitler's “Mein Kampf” is still on U.S. Naval Academy shelves. “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and “Memorializing the Holocaust” are not.

An order by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s office led to a purge of books that are critical of racism — but preserved volumes defending white power.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

Which apparently can be done best by preventing a gay black woman from speaking.
