Jack Smith: "Trump was charged bc the evidence established he willfully broke the law -- the very laws he took an oath to uphold... After leaving office, Trump illegally kept classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago social club... highly sensitive natl security info was held in a ballroom & bathroom."

This is, in my opinion, not only the correct moral/ethical/legal position but also the correct political framing. Everyone can see the agency is out of control; everyone can see that it is constantly violating human rights. "Scrap it and start over" is the moderate position.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

WTF! The Epstein files are not in the headlines for two minutes, and this creep feels entitled to put his hands on a young girl in the Oval Office as millions of Americans are watching?

Gross.

But in a sense it's actually worse than a war crime, because there is no war. It's just a crime. It's a crime—murder—whether or not the aircraft can be identified as part of a military force.

Call me crazy, but wouldn't it have made sense to talk to the Oil Execs to make sure they wanted to move into Venezuela BEFORE you invaded a fucking sovereign nation to steal their oil? BEFORE you spent millions of our taxpayer dollars crowning yourself "President Of Venezuela"? Fucking asshole.

NEW: GoFundMe's rules forbid fundraisers tied to legal funds for violent crimes. One for the ICE agent who killed Renee Good, currently nearing $500K, changed the language in its description after @wired.com reached out (but not in the images at the top of the page, oops) @dell.bsky.social reports:
GoFundMe Ignores Own Rules by Hosting a Legal-Defense Fund for the ICE Agent Who Killed Renee Good
The fundraiser for the ICE agent in the Renee Good killing has stayed online in seeming breach of GoFundMe’s own terms of service, prompting questions about selective enforcement.

Whether in 2026 or 2028, there will be a reckoning. Even if Trump gave a mass pardon (he would have to use an autopen to pardon 21K agents) there would still be civil action open to the folks who were harmed. 🗽

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

ICE’s “Operation Metro Surge.” The policy created the conditions of possibility for the killing surge and the decision to send these particular agents into this particular neighborhood; there is no confrontation at that car and no federal officer in position to shoot a citizen in the face.
