Honestly, I think this is a good thing. It could be a way for transmasculine people like myself to continue our access to HRT .

The profits in the construction of prison facilities, surveillance technology, and efficient disposal of undesired people will be the next profit-making venture. Concentration camps were an economic consideration as much as anything else. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forced_...

ok. that's all i've got.

today's democrats aren't who will liberate us in the end, but the folks nearest institutional power are the ones who can, while things are bad, most easily help hold up the falling sky & buy time.

In addition to antagonizing our allies, halting foreign aid, and destroying higher ed, GOP attacks on US soft power include:

1) halting education/cultural exchange (Fulbright etc)

2) shuttering US-funded media (PBS, Voice of America etc)

3) abandoning global health and climate commitments.

Yeah - I also like the approach of asking the students to grade/check an AI written essay so they can see where mistakes/problems are that are inherent to AI. Especially if it is about a topic they already enjoy, even if it is just video games.

I'm generally on board with pedagogy reforms people have proposed to make learning feel non-punitive. Where I start to feel uncomfortable is the notion that we should be lowering the standard of thinking or writing that's expected from students. I think that is a very scary path to start on.
